Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have applauded security forces for killing eight Khwarij in Hangu and paid glowing tribute to the martyred officers and jawans who sacrificed their lives in defence of the motherland.

According to Radio Pakistan, in their separate statements, the President and Prime Minister expressed deep grief over the martyrdom of Captain Abuzar Farooq, Lieutenant Sheraz Babar, and other personnel and extended heartfelt condolences to their families.

The President emphasized that the sacrifices of the brave sons further strengthen the national resolve to root out terrorism from the country. He highlighted the importance of unity and resilience in the face of such challenges.

The Prime Minister acknowledged the unparalleled valour demonstrated by the martyred officers and soldiers, stating that the entire nation salutes them. He reiterated the government's commitment to supporting the families of the martyrs and continuing the fight against those who threaten the peace and security of the nation.
