Islamabad: Shab-e-Meraj is being observed tonight with religious fervour. President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have extended heartfelt greetings to the Muslims of Pakistan and across the world on the blessed occasion of Shab-e-Meraj.

According to Radio Pakistan, in their separate messages, they emphasized that Shab-e-Meraj is a night of immense spiritual and religious significance for the Muslim Ummah, commemorating the miraculous journey of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (peace be upon him).

The President emphasized that the event of Meraj teaches the values of firm faith, patience, and obedience, and reminds humanity that trials and hardships are temporary, while Allah Almighty's mercy and support are everlasting.

The Prime Minister said the event of Meraj calls upon Muslims to align their individual and collective lives with Islamic teachings, while promoting tolerance, brotherhood, justice, and social harmony.
