President Confers Nishan-e-Imtiaz (M) Upon UAE Naval Commander


Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari conferred the Nishan-e-Imtiaz (Military) upon the Commander of the UAE Naval Forces, Major General Humaid Abdulla Alremeithi, at a special investiture ceremony held at Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad on Monday. The award was bestowed in recognition of his services and contribution to strengthening Pakistan and United Arab Emirates defence relations.



According to Radio Pakistan, Minister for Defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif, parliamentarians, Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf, and other high-ranking military authorities attended the ceremony. In a subsequent meeting with the Commander, the President stated that the award acknowledges the Commander’s services and contributions.



The President noted that the Commander’s visit underscores the enduring fraternal ties between Pakistan and the UAE, highlighting the shared commitment to deepening cooperation in various fields. He expressed satisfaction over the UAE Navy’s active participation in Aman Dialogue-25 and Exercise Aman-25, appreciating the confidence the UAE Navy has in the professional expertise of the Pakistan Navy.



The President emphasized the importance of further enhancing collaboration between the two naval forces, underscoring the exemplary and historic relations between Pakistan and the UAE. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to working closely with the UAE to strengthen these ties.



During the occasion, the UAE Commander shared with the President his personal connection to Pakistan, having spent four years in the country while graduating from the Pakistan Naval Academy in Karachi.
