Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif have extended heartiest greetings to the Sikh community in Pakistan and across the world on the 556th birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji being celebrated in Nankana Shahid today.
According to Radio Pakistan, in their separate statements, the President and the Prime Minister emphasized that Baba Guru Nanak was a messenger of peace, tolerance, and equality. They highlighted that his teachings, which include love for humanity, selfless service, and harmony among people of all faiths, remain timeless and universal.
The leaders also expressed pride in Pakistan’s role as the guardian of several sacred Gurdwaras linked to the life of Baba Guru Nanak. They reiterated their commitment to protect the rights of all religious minorities and to preserve and facilitate access to Sikh places of worship.
