Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif have extended their congratulations to the newly elected office bearers of the Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNE).
According to Radio Pakistan, both leaders conveyed their best wishes in separate messages. President Zardari emphasized the importance of media in combating fake news and misinformation and expressed his hope that the CPNE will actively promote journalistic values. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also highlighted the significance of maintaining high journalistic standards in the country and expressed his confidence that the new CPNE leadership will continue to support these ideals.
