Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have extended felicitations to the nation on the successful launch of country's second indigenous Electro-Optical Satellite.

According to Radio Pakistan, President Asif Ali Zardari commended scientists, engineers, and researchers of SUPARCO for the preparation and successful launch of EO-2. The President also expressed heartfelt thanks to the government and institutions of the People's Republic of China for their cooperation in the successful launch. Asif Ali Zardari mentioned that the strategic partnership between Pakistan and China is further strengthening in the field of space science and technology.

Prime Minister Shehbaz, in his statement, also commended the scientists and researchers who worked on EO-2. The Prime Minister highlighted that the launch of this satellite will help collect important data and obtain key information and imagery related to climate monitoring and urban planning.
