Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have lauded the Pakistan Navy for successfully thwarting an attempt to smuggle fifteen hundred kilograms of hashish through the Arabian Sea.
According to Radio Pakistan, in their separate messages, they termed the successful seizure of narcotics at sea a testament to the Pakistan Navy’s high professional capability and effective vigilance. The President highlighted that the Navy’s timely action reinforces the state’s commitment to safeguarding national interests and curbing illegal activities.
He affirmed that the state and its institutions remain determined to eliminate all forms of unlawful activity in the country’s maritime domain. Similarly, the Prime Minister emphasized that smuggling at sea will be eliminated owing to the Navy’s strict vigilance and professional expertise.
He added that the Pakistan Navy is playing an active and commendable role in joint, coordinated maritime security efforts with regional and international partners.
