PNSC to Generate $700 Million in Freight Earnings Through Fleet Expansion: Junaid


Islamabad: Pakistan National Shipping Corporation is set to generate an estimated seven hundred million dollars in freight earnings by expanding its cargo fleet to thirty-four vessels over the next three years. This ambitious plan was announced during a meeting in Islamabad chaired by Minister for Maritime Affairs, Junaid Anwar Chaudhry.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Minister emphasized the need for PNSC to evolve into a globally competitive, technologically advanced, and environmentally sustainable organization. This evolution would align PNSC with international maritime benchmarks. He proposed enhancing collaboration between PNSC, Karachi Shipyard and Engineering Works, and local industries for the domestic construction of modern cargo vessels, oil tankers, and container carriers.

Junaid Anwar also highlighted the necessity for digital transformation in maritime operations. This transformation includes the adoption of platforms such as Pakistan Single Window, Vessel Traffic Management Systems, blockcha
in-based documentation, e-logistics solutions, and real-time cargo tracking systems.

The Minister stressed the importance of PNSC for maritime sovereignty, national economic stability, and secure supply chains, particularly in a volatile global environment.
