PM Vows to Prioritize Reforms, Structural Overhauls for Economic Growth


Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has expressed the government’s commitment to prioritize reforms and structural overhauls for a robust economic turnaround. He was addressing a group of Pakistani students, who are getting education in world-leading educational institutes and selected for the government’s internship summer scholars programme of Uraan Pakistan in Islamabad on Saturday.



According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister praised the “Uraan Pakistan-Summer Scholars” internship program as a commendable initiative. He expressed confidence that the experience of the selected students over the coming months would help them understand the complexities and challenges of governance. He noted the federal government’s launch of the Pakistan Education Endowment Fund, which will be used to support high-quality education for youth.



On climate change, the Prime Minister noted that Pakistan is among the ten vulnerable countries affected by its hazardous impacts, citing the country’s suffering of thirty billion dollars in losses caused by the 2022 floods. Commenting on recent Pakistan-India tensions, he mentioned that Pakistan offered an investigation, but India did not respond.



The Prime Minister praised the armed forces for demonstrating professional capabilities and courage, stating that Pakistan won the conventional war. He reaffirmed that Pakistan’s nuclear program is solely for self-defense and not aggression.
