PM Vows Full-Force Response to Any Indian Attempt to Divert Pakistan’s Water

Kakul: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said the entire nation stands by the armed forces of Pakistan to safeguard every inch of the homeland. Addressing the passing out parade of cadets at Pakistan Military Academy Kakul, he emphasized that the country’s armed forces are fully prepared to defend the nation’s sovereignty and territorial integrity against any misadventure.

According to Radio Pakistan, Prime Minister Sharif highlighted the valour, discipline, and commitment of the armed forces, stating that while peace is a preference, it should not be mistaken as a weakness. He affirmed that any attempts to alter the flow of water to Pakistan under the Indus Water Treaty would be met with full force, as water is a vital national interest.

The Prime Minister condemned terrorism in all its forms, noting Pakistan’s immense loss of over ninety thousand casualties and economic damages exceeding six hundred billion dollars. He criticized India’s pattern of making baseless allegations without credible investigation, citing the recent incident in Pahalgam as an example.

Highlighting the Kashmir issue, Sharif reiterated Pakistan’s support for the right of self-determination of the Kashmiri people, in line with UN resolutions. He also addressed the persecution of minorities in India, urging India to take responsibility for the security of oppressed communities.

Turning to regional matters, Sharif expressed a desire for peaceful relations with Afghanistan but stressed that terrorist activities from Afghan soil must cease. He assured that Pakistan aims to build new partnerships globally while advancing peace and security through its role in the UN Security Council.
