PM Urges Enhanced Trade Relations Between Pakistan and Australia


Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has underscored the need for expanding bilateral trade and investment between Pakistan and Australia. In a meeting with the newly appointed High Commissioner of Australia, Tim Kane, in Islamabad, he emphasized the potential for cooperation in agriculture and livestock sectors.



According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister also welcomed Australian interest in the mining and minerals sector, highlighting the Reko-Diq project as an example of the sector’s potential in Pakistan. He praised the Pakistani diaspora in Australia for their role in strengthening ties between the two nations.



The Prime Minister noted the strong people-to-people connections and cultural ties between Pakistan and Australia, particularly through their shared passion for cricket. He offered condolences for the tragic loss of lives in the terrorist shooting at Bondi Beach, Sydney, condemning the act and expressing Pakistan’s solidarity with Australia.



He reaffirmed Pakistan’s position against terrorism, emphasizing that it has no religion and must be condemned in all forms. He called for collective action to eradicate the menace.
