Quetta: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has called upon all stakeholders in Balochistan to join hands with the government and armed forces of Pakistan for lasting peace and prosperity in the province. Addressing a grand Jirga in Quetta, he emphasized the need to defeat the nefarious designs of terrorists who are hostile to the development and prosperity of Pakistan.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister stated that neither the people of Balochistan nor the government and armed forces of Pakistan can tolerate the terrorists. He urged unity to bring back those who have been misled into the national mainstream. The Prime Minister also encouraged the Jirga participants to present their proposals to address any grievances.
Highlighting the spirit of brotherhood among federating units, the Prime Minister announced that in the upcoming federal development fund of 1000 billion rupees, a significant share of 250 billion rupees has been allocated for Balochistan. He stressed that this budget must be spent transparently to ensure development and prosperity for the people throughout Balochistan.
Shehbaz Sharif mentioned his previous tenure as Chief Minister of Punjab, where he ensured a 10 percent quota and scholarships for Balochistan students in Punjab universities, a policy still pursued by the current Punjab government. He assured that no injustice towards Balochistan would occur during his tenure.
The Prime Minister proudly referenced the unity demonstrated by the nation amidst India’s recent aggression, calling for this spirit to be used to further strengthen national cohesion.
