Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has appealed to the nation to offer Salat al-Istisqa for rain. In a statement today [Thursday], he urged religious scholars and leaders to play their role in organizing Salat al-Istisqa. He said the rain would improve the environment and greatly help get rid of diseases. According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of special prayers to Allah to alleviate human suffering caused by the current dry spell. He urged that Salat al-Istisqa should be organized in all mosques across the country, with coordination from both federal and provincial governments. Shehbaz Sharif highlighted the critical need for rain in the current situation, indicating that it is essential for environmental improvement and public health.
