PM Stresses Use of Technology to Facilitate Citizens

Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has directed the officials concerned to facilitate the citizens' access to government facilities through the use of technology. He was chairing a meeting to review matters pertaining to the National Information Technology Board in Islamabad.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister emphasized the digitization of all necessary stages of the Hajj from this year to facilitate intending pilgrims. He expressed appreciation for the thorough preparations made by the Ministry of Information Technology and other concerned ministries for the establishment of Asan Khidmat Markaz in Islamabad.

The Prime Minister also announced plans to review the QR-based feedback system for overseas Pakistanis. During the meeting, it was revealed that a secure new app is set to be launched soon for all government sector institutions, aiming to enhance digital accessibility and efficiency.

Furthermore, an integrated One Patient One ID system is in the final stages of preparation, which is expected to improve the timely and better provision of services in hospitals. An analytics dashboard for the judiciary is also under development to streamline judicial processes.

The meeting highlighted that the National Information Technology Board is currently operating more than 145 government websites, 126 portals, and 31 mobile phone applications, underscoring the expanding role of technology in government operations.
