PM Stresses Political Harmony for National Progress


Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif says the government is ready for dialogue with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf if the party desires so. Addressing the Federal Cabinet meeting in Islamabad on Tuesday, he reiterated the offer of dialogue with the PTI. He added that harmony amongst all the political parties is vital for progress and prosperity of the country.



According to Radio Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif made it clear that no blackmailing or unlawful actions will be tolerated under the pretext of dialogue. He emphasized that discussions should be based on legitimate matters. The Prime Minister expressed the confidence that the successful bidding of Pakistan International Airlines Corporation Limited will help take forward the privatization agenda. He said PIACL’s privatization is going to be the biggest transaction in the country’s history, for which the whole process was made transparent.



Shehbaz Sharif said the conferment of a Saudi award upon Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, is an honour for the entire nation. The Federal Cabinet approved the Visa Clearance System to facilitate overseas travel for Pakistanis by providing a transparent, secure, and streamlined mechanism for obtaining visas.



The cabinet also approved the National Cannabis Control and Regulatory Policy, 2025, aimed at promoting the use of botanical plants in the pharmaceutical and textile sectors in the country. Besides, the cabinet allowed the extension of the Off-Grid Power Plants Levy Act, 2025, to include the sale of gas to captive power plants by third parties. It allowed amendments to the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority Ordinance, 2002, and the repeal of the National University for Security Sciences Islamabad Bill, 2025.
