PM Shehbaz Vows to Boost Pakistan-Iran Trade to $10 Billion


Tehran: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has announced plans to increase bilateral trade between Pakistan and Iran from the current three billion dollars to ten billion dollars in the coming years. He made this declaration during an interview with IRNA, ahead of his visit to Tehran.



According to Radio Pakistan, Prime Minister Sharif highlighted the significant increase in trade between the two countries over the past three to four years. Emphasizing the interconnected economic futures of Pakistan and Iran, he pointed out the shared 900-kilometer border as a key factor in their economic relationship.



The Prime Minister expressed his belief that establishing strong economic ties between Pakistan’s Balochistan and Iran’s Sistan-Baluchestan regions could benefit the entire region. He also noted that such economic cooperation could play a crucial role in combating terrorism.



Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stressed the importance of maintaining ongoing economic engagement between Iran and Pakistan to achieve these trade objectives.
