PM Shehbaz Sharif Advocates for Modern Technology to Eradicate Counterfeit Medicines


Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed authorities concerned to incorporate the latest technology in order to the complete expulsion of heinous market of counterfeit medicines in the country. Presiding over a meeting regarding the matters of Ministry of National Health, he instructed to encourage the pharma companies for accreditation from World Health Organization.



According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister emphasized that accreditation from World Health Organization will upgrade the standard of Pakistani medicines, and the opportunities for exporting medicines will also be enhanced. Shehbaz Sharif ordered to present a roadmap of collaboration between welfare organizations and private sectors for providing medical facilities in the Federal Capital.



He highlighted the provision of the best medical facilities to the general public as the topmost priority of the government. He instructed the relevant authorities for third-party validation of medical colleges to ensure the provision of quality education. He made it clear that no compromise of any type will be accepted regarding the provision of high-quality medical education.



The Prime Minister stated that political interference of any type will not be tolerated in the process of introducing reforms in the health sector. During the meeting, he was informed about the constraints in the progress of the health sector, and recommendations were presented for sustainable solutions.



It was informed that the entire process of the registration of medicines and medical equipment will be fully digitalized by the end of next month. Additionally, planning is underway to bring newly established basic health units, regional blood centers, and the Isolation Hospital and Infections Treatment Center in Islamabad into the mainstream with the cooperation of the affluent class of society.
