Vienna: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reaffirmed Pakistan's support for the International Atomic Energy Agency's (IAEA) role in promoting the responsible use of nuclear technology in areas such as cancer diagnosis and treatment, agriculture, nuclear power generation, and industrial applications. He conveyed this during a meeting with the Director General of the IAEA, Rafael Mariano Grossi, at the Vienna International Centre.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister praised the robust partnership between Pakistan and the IAEA, highlighting that Pakistan is not only a beneficiary of the IAEA's Technical Cooperation Programme but also contributes to the agency's work by providing experts and conducting international training sessions for IAEA Member States.

The Director General acknowledged Pakistan's expertise in the peaceful use of nuclear technology and commended the high quality of its engineers, scientists, and technicians. He appreciated Pakistan's contributions to nuclear safety and security, stating that the country is well-positioned to assist other IAEA Member States in the peaceful applications of nuclear technology.
