Islamabad: Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates have emphasized the need to broaden collaboration across various sectors, focusing on economic cooperation, investment, energy, infrastructure development, information technology, technology, and people-to-people exchanges. This consensus was reached during a meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Islamabad.
According to Radio Pakistan, the leaders also concurred on enhancing bilateral trade, recognizing its significant potential for mutually beneficial growth. They exchanged views on key regional and international developments and reaffirmed their shared commitment to continue close coordination on matters of mutual interest. Both leaders expressed satisfaction with the positive trajectory of bilateral relations and reiterated their determination to work together closely towards the shared objectives of peace, stability, and sustainable development.
During the visit, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed engaged in substantive talks with the Prime Minister, focusing on further strengthening the longstanding fraternal relations between the two nations. They reviewed the progress in ongoing areas of cooperation and explored avenues to deepen engagement across a wide range of sectors. The visit of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan is expected to further consolidate the strong brotherly ties between Pakistan and the UAE, contributing to the strengthening of their strategic partnership.
It is noteworthy that UAE President and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, paid an official visit to Pakistan at the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. This visit marked his first official trip to Pakistan as the President of the United Arab Emirates. His Highness received a warm and cordial welcome upon his arrival. A formation of JF-17 fighter jets escorted the Royal aircraft as it entered Pakistani airspace. Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Chief of Army Staff, and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, along with other senior members of the Cabinet and government officials, welcomed the UAE dignitary at Nur Khan Airbase.
