PM Seeks Viable Projects to Spur Trade, Investment


Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed the authorities concerned to work on viable projects to promote investment and trade across all key sectors. Chairing a high-level meeting via Zoom from London, he said our ongoing economic and fiscal reform policies have given new direction to the economy, and due to the innovation and transparency, the country is now on the path of development.



According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister noted Agriculture, IT, minerals, tourism, and renewable energy are key sectors that can attract foreign investment. He said promoting trade is also part of our policy in order to significantly enhance exports.



He said targets have been assigned to the ministries, and directions have been given to use all available resources to ensure timely completion of all ongoing projects. Shehbaz Sharif said a roadmap and agenda for transformation should be developed with a future-oriented approach so that we can move forward in an organized manner to achieve our goals.



He emphasized the private sector will play a key role in the roadmap for economic activities, and their participation will be ensured.
