Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has reiterated the government's resolve to continue the struggle against all forms of extremism, terrorism, hatred, and violent ideologies with full force.
According to Radio Pakistan, in his message on the International Day for the Prevention of Violent Extremism, the Prime Minister emphasized that Pakistan has made significant sacrifices in the fight against terrorism and violent extremism over the past several decades. He highlighted that the sacrifices of the nation's security personnel and innocent citizens are a testament to Pakistan's national resolve.
The Prime Minister noted that extremist and violent ideologies undermine peace and stability in societies and weaken fundamental human values such as humanity, tolerance, mutual respect, and coexistence. He stressed that Islam is a religion of peace that teaches moderation, tolerance, dialogue, and respect for human life, and underscored the importance of safeguarding younger generations from extremist ideologies through education and positive opportunities.
Shehbaz Sharif further stated that social justice, economic inclusion, and interfaith harmony form the foundations of sustainable peace. He highlighted that global injustices, protracted conflicts, and grave human rights violations contribute to the rise of extremism and violence. On the international stage, he pointed out that unresolved disputes in regions such as Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and Palestine, where civilians face oppression, reflect extremist tendencies.
The Prime Minister urged the international community to take effective measures for the just and peaceful resolution of these enduring conflicts. He affirmed that Pakistan will continue to collaborate with the global community through collective strategies, cooperation, and partnerships to eliminate violent extremism and promote a just and peaceful international order.
