Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has reaffirmed that the government will continue to take all necessary measures for the welfare, development, and protection of minorities. He made these remarks during a meeting with a delegation of Members of the National Assembly belonging to the minority community in Islamabad today.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister emphasized that minorities are an integral part of Pakistan’s social and economic fabric, and that the Constitution of Pakistan guarantees complete religious freedom, equal rights, and protection. The delegation appreciated the government’s efforts for the welfare of minorities and apprised the Prime Minister about issues faced by the minority community.
The Prime Minister assured full cooperation in addressing the challenges of the minority community and in further strengthening their inclusion in the national mainstream. The delegation comprised Minister of State for Religious Affairs Kheal Das Kohistani, Dr Darshan, Nelson Azeem, Isphanyar Bhandara, Ms Neelam, Sanjay Perwani, Ramesh Kumar, Naveed Aamir, and Ramesh Lal.
