PM Pledges to Enhance Pakistan’s Standing Internationally

Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has pledged to build on the unity shown by the nation in response to Indian aggression. He made this commitment while addressing the main ceremony of Youm-i-Tashakkur at the Pakistan Monument.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister emphasized the unity and resolve of the nation alongside its armed forces, urging a renewed journey towards national progress. He paid tribute to the armed forces for their decisive victory over the adversary. He recapped India’s rejection of a transparent probe into the Pahalgam incident and its subsequent attack on civilians, which led to Pakistan’s calculated response on May 9.

Shehbaz Sharif highlighted how Pakistan’s armed forces dismantled India’s perceived regional dominance, with the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) playing a pivotal role. He commended the PAF for its integration of advanced technologies that enhanced its operational capabilities, noting that their professionalism has earned global admiration for Pakistan.

Addressing international diplomats, the Prime Minister expressed gratitude for their support against India’s unfounded propaganda. He mentioned nations such as Turkiye, China, Saudi Arabia, and others, while especially appreciating US President Donald Trump for his role in preventing a potential war in South Asia.

The Prime Minister reiterated Pakistan’s desire for peace despite its military success, emphasizing the need for dialogue with India to resolve issues like Jammu and Kashmir and water distribution. He stressed that resolving these core issues is essential for lasting peace and collaboration on other fronts, including counter-terrorism.

The ceremony included a fly-past by PAF fighter jets and performances of patriotic songs by Syeda Hadia Hashmi, Shabnam Majeed, and Sahir Ali Bagga. Attendees included cabinet members, military officials, diplomats, media, and other dignitaries.
