Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed his resolve to further strengthen the economy in the next financial year. Chairing the Federal Cabinet meeting held in Islamabad, he thanked President Asif Ali Zardari, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, all the coalition partners, and political leadership, including the Federal Cabinet members, for their support in finalizing the budget.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister lauded the entire economic team, particularly Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb and Chairman FBR, for their hard work and dedication in preparing the federal budget for the fiscal year 2025-26. Turning to the situation in the Middle East, Shehbaz Sharif welcomed the ceasefire between Israel and Iran and thanked Almighty Allah for the peaceful resolution of the conflict. He acknowledged the important role played by various countries, including Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, in ensuring the ceasefire.
Shehbaz Sharif mentioned that Iran openly thanked the people of Pakistan, its political parties, military, and political leadership for their role in the ceasefire with Iran. The Iranian leadership specifically mentioned the names of the President of Pakistan, his own name, and the Field Marshal for their contribution to the ceasefire efforts. Regarding the attack on Qatar by Iran, the Prime Minister stated that Pakistan issued a condemnation statement.
About Muharram-ul-Haram, the Prime Minister directed the authorities concerned to ensure foolproof security arrangements and strict law and order during processions and Majalis across the country. He also instructed the Interior Minister to ensure enhanced security arrangements in collaboration with the provincial governments, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir during the month.
The Federal Cabinet offered Fateha for Major Moiz Abbas Shah Shaheed and other Shuhada who embraced martyrdom in an operation against the terrorists in South Waziristan. The Prime Minister reiterated the commitment to win the war against Fitna- al-Khwarij.
