Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed that the Danish University building be constructed in a simple yet dignified style. Chairing a meeting of the Board of Trustees of Danish University in Islamabad on Monday, he emphasized that the institution will focus on advancing technology and modern sciences.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister gave instructions for devising a strategy that ensures high-quality research and the recruitment of distinguished faculty members. He further directed that contractors with strong reputations and relevant experience be pre-qualified for the university’s construction.
Shehbaz Sharif stressed that talented and deserving students from remote areas across the country, including Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir, must be given opportunities for admission to Danish University. He also underscored the importance of raising awareness about the university in government schools.
The meeting was informed that the Danish University Project Management Unit has been established. It was told that the university’s charter has been approved by the Ministry of Law and Justice and will be forwarded to the Cabinet and Parliament for final approval.
The Board was also briefed that nationwide outreach programs related to Danish University are being launched. Initially, a Center of Excellence aligned with contemporary needs will be established at the university, while training camps will be organized across the country to facilitate admissions for deserving students.
It was further shared that internationally renowned education experts have been engaged to shape the academic vision of the university.
