Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has inaugurated the Iqbal Flyover to ease traffic congestion and facilitate the residents of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
According to Radio Pakistan, during the inaugural ceremony in Islamabad, the Prime Minister praised Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi and the Capital Development Authority team for completing the project in a record time of 77 days at a cost of 1.4 billion rupees. He also commended SP Operations, Islamabad, for the successful removal of illegal encroachments that could have hindered urban planning efforts.
Earlier, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi addressed the gathering, emphasizing that cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely completion were the priorities for development projects, which have been successfully achieved. He mentioned the planning of service roads along the Expressway to manage light traffic and announced that the Shaheen Chowk project is expected to be finished within the next ten days.
Mohsin Naqvi also discussed the Islamabad Vision 2027, expressing hopes to involve the Prime Minister in advancing this initiative. He envisioned a transformed Islamabad by 2027 and also announced plans to tackle water shortage issues.
