PM Expresses Solidarity with Malaysia Over Cyclone-Induced Floods


Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif held a telephonic conversation with his Malaysian counterpart Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim today and expressed solidarity over the recent cyclone-induced floods.



According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister, on behalf of the people and Government of Pakistan as well as on his personal behalf, expressed heartfelt condolences to the Malaysian Prime Minister over the loss of lives and damages to property resulting from heavy rainfall, floods, and landslides in the wake of the recent cyclone.



While offering prayers for those who had lost their lives and wishing an early recovery for the displaced and injured, the Prime Minister conveyed complete solidarity with the Malaysian people during this time of grief. He also offered Pakistan’s full support for relief and rescue operations, as well as any assistance that Malaysia may require to deal with the natural disaster.



In his remarks, the Prime Minister of Malaysia thanked Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for his kind and thoughtful telephonic call, which he said reflects the close brotherly ties between Pakistan and Malaysia.
