Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed National Disaster Management Authority to take all necessary measures to protect lives and properties in view of the monsoon rains. Talking to NDMA Chairman Lieutenant General Inam Haider Malik over the phone, Prime Minister also advised to conduct an estimate of the losses of lives and properties. He asked Chairman NDMA to improve coordination with provincial disaster management departments, including of Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. Besides, Shehbaz Sharif instructed to expedite measures for the restoration of highways and roads affected by rains and land sliding. He also called for providing all possible health facilities to the people of affected areas. He instructed to ensure the provision of relief goods, including medicines and other essential items, to the rains' affected areas.
