PM Directs NDMA to Enhance Coordination with Provinces Amid Torrential Rains


Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has instructed the Chairman of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) to maintain close communication with provincial governments, particularly in the upper regions, to provide assistance amid the recent torrential rains.



According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister conveyed these directives during a telephonic conversation with Chairman NDMA Lieutenant General Inam Haider Malik. The discussion focused on the situation resulting from the recent heavy rainfall across the country.



The Chairman NDMA briefed the Prime Minister on the current rainfall situation, highlighting the need for increased coordination. In response, the Prime Minister instructed the Chairman to expedite collaboration with rescue agencies, district administrations, and provincial governments to ensure effective response measures.



Additionally, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of informing the public about weather conditions in advance through cell phone messages to ensure their safety and preparedness.
