Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has emphasized the importance of promoting Islamic values of tolerance, patience, and forbearance. He was addressing a ceremony in Islamabad today to mark the International Day of Tolerance.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister said the very foundation of Pakistan’s creation was laid on the philosophy of tolerance, harmony, and patience, in line with the vision of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and the teachings of Islam. He noted that the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) conveyed a timeless message of patience, tolerance, brotherhood, and mutual respect.
The Prime Minister prayed to Allah Almighty to make Pakistan a great welfare state, where people of all schools of thought and all religions can live together in peace and harmony. Speaking on the occasion, Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazeer Tarar emphasized adopting an inclusive and tolerance-based approach in the society to enable every segment to play an effective role and utilize their talent.
He underscored the need for practical steps and social awareness alongside legislative measures to mainstream the downtrodden segments of society.
