Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has urged all stakeholders to join hands with the government to transform Pakistan’s maritime strength. He was addressing the International Maritime Expo and Conference in Islamabad on Monday evening.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister emphasized that the blue economy represents the new frontier of Pakistan’s economic resurgence, with the potential to generate wealth, drive trade, and promote sustainable growth while transforming coastal livelihoods. He highlighted the need for optimal utilization of the opportunities offered by the blue economy for national development and regional connectivity.
The Prime Minister pointed out that with over 1000 km of coastline, three major ports, and a strategic location at the crossroads of global maritime routes, Pakistan is uniquely positioned to harness the full potential of its maritime domain. He affirmed Pakistan’s commitment to international peace, regional stability, and adherence to international norms that guide maritime diplomacy, noting the recent AMAN exercise with participation from 60 countries as a testament to this commitment.
Applauding the role of the Pakistan Navy, the Prime Minister acknowledged their unwavering resolve, professionalism, and precision, underscoring the Navy’s consistent demonstration of these qualities.
