Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has directed the Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) to take immediate practical steps to promote tourism in the country. Chairing a meeting in Islamabad, he emphasized that special tourism zones should be established to boost the tourism sector.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister highlighted the necessity for the public and private sectors to collaborate in facilitating international tourists’ travel to Pakistan’s destinations. He expressed the need for Pakistan to be introduced abroad as a tourism brand, suggesting that special arrangements should also be made to promote domestic tourism and support local tourists at recreational spots.
Shehbaz Sharif stressed the importance of having a proper plan for long-term investment in the tourism sector. He underscored that Pakistan is blessed with natural resources and unparalleled beauty, noting the immense potential in the country’s tourism sector to earn foreign exchange.
