PM Aims to Strengthen Pak-China Ties Across Key Sectors


Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reiterated Pakistan’s desire to deepen bilateral cooperation with China in sectors including trade, investment, ICT, agriculture, industrialization, mines, and minerals. He discussed these intentions with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi during a meeting in Islamabad.



According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister emphasized the significance of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) for Pakistan’s socio-economic development and its role in enhancing regional connectivity. He expressed satisfaction with the progress of CPEC Phase-II and appreciated China’s support in safeguarding Pakistan’s sovereignty and development.



Prime Minister Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for China on its core issues and stressed the commitment to strengthening the All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership. He praised President Xi Jinping’s leadership and expressed anticipation for his visit to Tianjin and Beijing, where he will attend the SCO CHS meeting and the 80th anniversary of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance.



The Chinese Foreign Minister, Wang Yi, highlighted China’s view of Pakistan as an ironclad friend and strategic partner. He commended Pakistan’s commitment to its sovereignty and affirmed China’s intention to work with Pakistan to promote regional peace and development, aiming to elevate bilateral relations to new heights.
