Perpetrators of 9th May Will Have to Face Law: DG ISPR

Islamabad: Director General Inter-Services Public Relations Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has stated that the perpetrators and facilitators of the events on 9th May will have to face the law. He made this assertion while speaking to journalists.

According to Radio Pakistan, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry addressed an article written by Sohail Warriach about an event in Brussels. He clarified that the Army Chief did not provide any interview and the article did not mention PTI or reference any apology. He suggested that the article was a personal effort by the journalist for self-interest and publicity.

The DG ISPR expressed disappointment over what he termed as irresponsible behavior by a senior journalist. He highlighted that Pakistan has the potential to reshape the region’s destiny, which is why it continues to face attacks. He urged young people to understand their country’s legacy and history.

He further explained that India, with the help of its terrorist proxies and facilitators, aimed to discredit the Pakistani army through an attack, but it backfired. The response from Pakistan and its military resulted in the discrediting of India and its proxies.

Chaudhry recounted a consensus decision made by all political parties in 2014 to eradicate terrorism in Pakistan, which he noted has not been fully implemented. He pointed out that efforts to deport illegal Afghan nationals involved in crimes often face objections from certain political and criminal elements within Pakistan. He emphasized the need for the full implementation of the 14 points of the National Action Plan.

He concluded by declaring Pakistanis as the country’s greatest asset, recognizing the daily sacrifices made by the military, police, and law enforcement agencies to address gaps in governance.
