PBC Bahawalpur Playing Significant Role in Development of Region: Iqbal Channar

Bahawalpur: Member National Assembly Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channar says Radio Pakistan Bahawalpur has played a significant and commendable role in the economic, agricultural, and cultural development of the region, which is a matter of pride. He expressed these views after laying the foundation stone for the reconstruction of the boundary wall of Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation (Radio Pakistan) Bahawalpur.

According to Radio Pakistan, Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channar said Radio Pakistan Bahawalpur not only serves as a vital source of information and guidance for the public but also plays a key role in promoting local culture. He said the government is taking serious measures to improve and revive national institutions. He added that institutions like Radio Pakistan are being developed on modern lines.

The MNA emphasised that the completion of this project will further enhance the security, aesthetics, and performance of the institution while creating a positive impression among citizens. He also expressed gratitude to Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar for fulfilling the promise of reconstructing the boundary wall. Malik Muhammad Iqbal reaffirmed his commitment to continue such development projects for the progress and prosperity of Bahawalpur.

Director General Radio Pakistan Saeed Ahmed Sheikh, President Bahawalpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry Syed Zafar Sharif, Station Director Sajjad Ahmed Bary, Deputy Controller Radio Pakistan Headquarters Islamabad Imran Javed, business leaders Haji Muhammad Ijaz and Abdul Waheed Noonari, along with other dignitaries, were also present on the occasion. In his remarks, Saeed Ahmed Sheikh said the project was initiated due to the keen interest of the Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting and will be completed soon. He emphasized that Radio Pakistan Bahawalpur is the identity of the region and has been playing a vital role since 1975 in raising public awareness, promoting literature and arts, and contributing to agricultural and industrial development. He also reaffirmed the commitment to further improve the station's infrastructure.

Syed Zafar Sharif thanked the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and assured Chamber's full support in the completion of this project. He added that the reconstruction of the boundary wall will enhance the city's beauty. He remarked that Radio Pakistan continues to contribute significantly to industrial and agricultural development.

It is pertinent to mention that the reconstruction project of the boundary wall has been initiated on the special directives of Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, aimed at improving the infrastructure of the organization. The dilapidated and collapsed boundary wall had been affecting both the dignity of the institution and the overall beauty of the city.
