Parliamentary Delegations from Trkiye, Azerbaijan Visit NDMA’s NEOC


Islamabad: High-level parliamentary delegations from Trkiye and Azerbaijan visited the National Emergencies Operations Center at the National Disaster Management Authority headquarters in Islamabad on Monday. The parliamentary delegation of Turkiye was led by Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Trkiye, Professor Dr. Numan Kurtulmus, whereas the delegation of Azerbaijan was led by Ms. Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan, along with her team. Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq accompanied both the state-level delegations to the National Emergencies Operation Center.



According to Radio Pakistan, Chairman NDMA, Lieutenant General Inam Haider Malik briefed the distinguished guests about Pakistan’s proactive disaster management framework. He highlighted NDMA’s central coordination role and its integration of advanced technologies in early warning systems, preparedness planning, and emergency response operations. The NDMA team showcased key initiatives aimed at enhancing national and regional resilience, including the development of the National Common Operating Picture and the Global Common Operating Picture.



These platforms utilize satellite data and international hazard models to enable real-time risk profiling and informed decision-making. The delegation was also briefed on NDMA’s proactive efforts to foster regional collaboration through knowledge exchange, workshops, Comprehensive International Simulation Exercises, and capacity-building programs.



The visiting dignitaries commended NDMA’s strategic use of technology, its commitment to resilience-building, and its role in strengthening national preparedness. Both sides reaffirmed their shared commitment to advancing regional cooperation in disaster risk reduction, capacity development, and mutual support during natural calamities.



This visit underscored the growing trilateral collaboration between Pakistan, Trkiye, and Azerbaijan in addressing the shared challenges of climate change and disaster management. It reflected a spirit of solidarity and mutual trust among friendly nations working together to safeguard communities and build a safer future.
