Islamabad: Members of Parliament across all parties have termed the age limits and protective laws crucial for safeguarding the future of young people in the digital world. Speaking to a private news channel, the members of parliament raised alarm about the increasing influence of social media, urging for laws similar to those in other nations.
According to Radio Pakistan, all members agreed that social media is having a significant psychological impact on the youth, affecting their focus and decision-making. They stressed the importance of implementing regulations that ensure the responsible use of social media, safeguarding future generations from potential harm.
Speaking on the occasion, Federal Minister for Commerce, Jam Kamal Khan commented that we cannot put the future of our youth at risk and the government is actively working on this issue. He mentioned that discussions have taken place within the Ministry of IT and timely measures will be taken to address the situation.
