Pakistan’s Stance on Palestine Reaffirmed by Deputy Prime Minister

Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar has reiterated Pakistan’s principled position that it will not recognize Israel unless a two-state solution is reached for the Palestine issue. He was addressing the media in Islamabad, highlighting Pakistan’s achievements and recent diplomatic engagements.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that Pakistan has consistently advocated for a two-state solution to the Palestine issue. This solution involves the establishment of a sovereign, viable, and independent Palestinian state based on pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.

In response to a query, Ishaq Dar mentioned that Pakistan and the United States are actively engaged in discussions regarding tariffs, expressing optimism that these talks will lead to a mutually beneficial outcome.

Furthermore, the Deputy Prime Minister clarified that Pakistan has never sought a ceasefire or dialogue process with India. However, he asserted that Pakistan is open to conducting comprehensive talks with India in a dignified manner, addressing all unresolved issues, including the Jammu and Kashmir dispute.

He also highlighted that, for the first time, Pakistan’s narrative was acknowledged on the global stage during its standoff with India.

In answer to another question, Dar announced that Pakistan will assume the presidency of the United Nations Security Council next month, with a ministerial meeting planned in New York on the 22nd of the month.
