Pakistan’s Nuclear Assets Deemed Secure by Ambassador Rizwan

Washington: Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, has affirmed the security of Pakistan’s nuclear assets, asserting their complete safety. In a recent interview with a private television channel, the ambassador emphasized that this assurance has been recognized by both the International Atomic Energy Agency and the United States.

According to Radio Pakistan, Ambassador Sheikh stated that Pakistan’s approach to its nuclear capability is both firm and responsible. He contrasted this with India’s handling of nuclear materials, which he described as a matter of concern, citing reports of a radioactive device being stolen from India’s Bhabha Atomic Research Centre last year.

The ambassador further elaborated that Pakistan’s conventional and non-conventional capabilities are designed to promote defense and peace. He emphasized that these capabilities have been integral in maintaining regional stability and that the region cannot afford any form of adventurism.

Additionally, Ambassador Sheikh highlighted the importance of enhancing trade relations with the United States, noting that President Donald Trump’s business-oriented approach could align well with Pakistan’s capabilities to meet U.S. market needs. He mentioned ongoing efforts to bolster bilateral cooperation in sectors such as security, minerals, information technology, and agriculture.

He concluded by noting that Pakistan’s demonstrated technical capabilities in recent times will play a crucial role in strengthening Pak-U.S. cooperation across these sectors.
