Doha: At the Asian Shotgun Championship in Doha, Qatar, Lieutenant Colonel Farrukh Nadeem of Pakistan Army won the first gold medal by setting a new world record. A total of seventeen countries from Asia participated in the event.

According to Radio Pakistan, Lieutenant Colonel Farrukh Nadeem hit 119 out of 125 targets in the qualifying round. Farrukh Nadeem stunned his opponents by hitting twenty-seven out of thirty targets in the final match.
