New york: Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, held a meeting with the President of the UN General Assembly, Annalena Baerbock, to discuss significant regional and global issues.
According to Radio Pakistan, the discussions between Ambassador Ahmad and President Baerbock focused on crucial topics such as UN80 reforms and the process for selecting the Secretary General. They also covered a range of other regional and global matters that require attention.
The meeting highlighted the shared belief in the importance of multilateralism and a steadfast commitment to upholding the UN Charter. Both parties recognized the need to enhance cooperation to strengthen the role of the United Nations, particularly the General Assembly, in achieving shared goals and effectively tackling pressing global challenges.
