Islamabad: Pakistan’s Minister for Petroleum, Ali Pervaiz Malik, has highlighted the nation’s significant reserves of copper, gold, and rare earth elements. He shared this information during a meeting with Australian High Commissioner Neil Hawkins, who was on a farewell visit in Islamabad.

According to Radio Pakistan, the discussion between the minister and the high commissioner centered on potential cooperation in Pakistan’s mining sector. The Australian High Commissioner noted that Australian companies are keenly interested in Pakistan’s mineral resources. This interest is evident as Australian subcontractors are already active in the mineral-rich region of Balochistan.

Minister Malik expressed his appreciation for Neil Hawkins, praising him as a true friend of Pakistan and acknowledging his efforts in strengthening the bilateral relations between Pakistan and Australia. He also conveyed his hopes that the high commissioner would leave with fond memories of his time in Pakistan.
