Islamabad: The Pakistani Army is a cornerstone of national stability, according to a statement from the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs following a meeting between Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Pakistan’s Army Chief, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir. The statement emphasized the enduring friendship and cooperation between Pakistan and China.
According to Radio Pakistan, Wang Yi acknowledged the Pakistani military’s role in implementing key agreements between the leaders of the two nations. He noted the importance of a strong China-Pakistan relationship in maintaining regional peace amid global uncertainties. Wang Yi also highlighted China’s prioritization of Pakistan in its neighborhood diplomacy, affirming that the relationship between the two countries has strengthened over time.
The Chinese Foreign Minister described the friendship between the two nations as unbreakable and reiterated China’s support for Pakistan’s territorial integrity and national security. He expressed China’s desire for Pakistan to take on a more significant role in international affairs.
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir echoed these sentiments, describing China as Pakistan’s “ironclad friend” and highlighting the strategic partnership between the two countries. He acknowledged the widespread consensus in Pakistan on the importance of developing friendly relations with China and expressed gratitude for China’s continuous support in Pakistan’s economic and social development.
Syed Asim Munir also reaffirmed the Pakistani military’s commitment to promoting counter-terrorism and security cooperation with China. He pledged efforts to ensure the safety of Chinese personnel and projects in Pakistan, contributing to the deepening of the all-weather friendship between the two nations.
