Islamabad: The first component of Batch-II, consisting of 100 Pakistani agriculture graduates, has arrived in China to commence a six-month training program focused on crop breeding and genomics. The graduates departed for the Southwest University of Science and Technology in China earlier on Sunday.
According to Radio Pakistan, the training is part of an ongoing initiative led by the Prime Minister of Pakistan to enhance the capacity of 1,000 agriculture professionals. The program aims to provide these professionals with the opportunity to learn from China’s climate-smart and technology-driven agricultural practices.
The initiative is being implemented by the Ministry of National Food Security and Research in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Pakistan’s Embassy in Beijing. This partnership underscores the commitment to fostering advanced agricultural knowledge and skills among Pakistani graduates by leveraging China’s expertise in the field.
