Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif announced that Pakistan welcomes investment from the United Arab Emirates in sectors including renewable energy, AI, minerals, agriculture, and Fintech. He made this statement while addressing a ceremony in Islamabad to celebrate Eid al Etihad, the National Day of the United Arab Emirates.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister highlighted the deepening strategic partnership between Pakistan and the UAE across various domains. He emphasized the economic collaboration between the two nations, pointing out the critical support the UAE has provided to Pakistan’s economy.
Shehbaz Sharif expressed admiration for the UAE’s progress, crediting the leadership of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan for the strong relationship between the two countries. He acknowledged the 1.8 million Pakistanis in the UAE who contribute significantly to its economy and consider it their second home.
The Prime Minister extended congratulations to the UAE’s people and government, expressing hopes for deeper cooperation and greater prosperity in the future.
Earlier in the ceremony, UAE Ambassador to Pakistan, Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Salem Alzaabi, reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to strengthening its partnership with Pakistan. He highlighted potential collaboration areas, such as renewable energy and AI, and stressed the importance of broadening economic relations to reflect the historic ties between the two countries.
