Pakistan Welcomes Positive Developments in Syria

New york: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has welcomed recent positive developments aimed at promoting stability and national cohesion in Syria. He was speaking with the Permanent Representative of Syria to the United Nations, Ambassador Ibrahim Olabi, who met him in New York during the sidelines of the high-level United Nations Security Council briefing on Palestine.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Deputy Prime Minister expressed hope that effective implementation of these developments would advance peace, unity, and territorial integrity in Syria. He reiterated Pakistan's principled stance on the importance of respecting international law, sovereignty, and existing agreements. He emphasized that violations of international commitments undermine regional stability and must be addressed in accordance with relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions.

In his remarks, Ambassador Ibrahim Olabi appreciated Pakistan's consistent and principled support. He briefed the Deputy Prime Minister on the ongoing efforts toward stability and national reconciliation in Syria.
