New york: Pakistan has welcomed the newly elected non-permanent members of the UN Security Council as they began their 2026-27 term. In a statement, Pakistan’s Permanent Mission at the UN said it looks forward to working closely with them in advancing the Council’s responsibilities for the maintenance of international peace and security.
According to Radio Pakistan, Bahrain, Colombia, Congo, Latvia, and Liberia have joined Pakistan, Denmark, Greece, Panama, and Somalia to serve as non-permanent members for the new term.
