Pakistan Warns World Against Dangers of Hate Speech, Disinformation, and Extremism


New York: Pakistan has warned the world against the dangers of hate speech, disinformation, and violent extremism, stating that the rise in their incidence is targeting people of different faiths, including Muslims.



According to Radio Pakistan, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, emphasized the potential risks if these hate-filled narratives remain unchecked. Speaking at a high-level event in New York marking the ‘International Day for Countering Hate,’ he highlighted the threat these narratives pose to societal cohesion, ultimately endangering global peace and stability.



Ambassador Ahmad called for the full implementation of the UN strategy and plan of action on hate speech. He underscored the importance of addressing hate in all its forms and manifestations as a crucial step toward achieving global harmony.
