Baku:United Nations Pakistan has called for an effective and durable cessation of hostilities in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo.

According to Radio Pakistan, the call was made by Usman Jadoon, Acting Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the UN, during a UN Security Council briefing on the Great Lakes region.

The Ambassador emphasized the need for all parties involved to convert diplomatic commitments into concrete and verifiable progress towards achieving peace and stability in the Great Lakes region.
