Pakistan, Turkiye, Azerbaijan to Collaborate for Regional Peace: PM


Lachin: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has expressed his willingness to discuss all issues with India at the negotiation table, including trade, provided India demonstrates sincerity of purpose and cooperation. Addressing the second Trilateral Summit in Lachin city of Azerbaijan, he emphasized Pakistan’s desire for peace in the region, stressing that the Kashmir issue should be resolved according to the UNSC resolutions and the aspirations of the people of Kashmir.



According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister noted that India has threatened to stop the flow of water into Pakistan but assured that proper arrangements are being made to counter this move. He expressed Pakistan’s readiness to engage in discussions on counter-terrorism with India, provided there is sincerity of purpose.



The Prime Minister also praised Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for leading the armed forces with bravery and professional acumen. During a ceremony in Lachin to mark Azerbaijan’s Independence Day, he paid tribute to the people of Azerbaijan for their struggle to secure independence, affirming Pakistan’s political and diplomatic support for Azerbaijan.



Highlighting the freedom struggle of the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Prime Minister stated that Kashmiris have endured Indian brutalities for decades. He reiterated that the Kashmiri people will persist in their struggle until they achieve their right to freedom as per the UN Security Council resolutions.



The Prime Minister also called for an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza. In a post on X, he stated that the Pakistan-Turkiye-Azerbaijan trilateral summit in Lachin will further strengthen the shared resolve to stand together. He emphasized that Pakistan, Turkiye, and Azerbaijan will work closely to advance regional peace, prosperity, and cooperation, describing the three nations as “one heart” and affirming the deep-rooted brotherhood among them.
